Ayurveda
Ayur means life and veda means science. Thus,
Ayurveda is the science of life. This heading system has been practiced
in India for more than 5,000 years.
In Ayurveda, health is a state of spiritual and physical equilibrium.
It is a medical and metaphysical heading life science- the mother of all
heading arts. The practice of Ayurveda is designed to promote human
happiness, health and creative growth. According to Ayurveda, the body
is made up of Tridoshas (tri means three and doshas means humors) - vata
(air), pitta (fire) and kapha (water). Good health means a normally in
the Tridoshas, i.e., a balance between the metabolic, systemic and
excretory functions, all five senses and the mind and sprit.

Shirodhara
Shiro means head and dhara is a steady flow of warm
Ayurvedic Oil selected by the Ayurvedic doctor based on the patient's
requirements. It is beneficial for hypertension, anxiety, insomnia,
psychiatric problems, paralysis, senile dementia and neurological
disorders. |

Ellakizhi
Finely chopped leaves and herbal powders are warmed
in medicated oil and bundled in a poultice, which is used for the
fomentation massage. Provides great relief for cases of rheumatism and
joint pains. |

Abhyanga
The Ayurvedic doctor selects the oils to be used in
this massage based on your body type. In addition to the beneficial
effects of massage, it reduces stress, improves circulation and relaxes
taut muscles, reduces hair-loss and dandruff, improves the condition of
your scalp, and improves sleep and eyesight. The massage is more
effective when done by two therapists. |

Pizhichi
Pizhi means squeezing and chil means vigorous
movement. it is a procedure of squeezing large quantities of warm
medicated oil all over the body with one hand and massaging with the
other. It alleviates muscles/joint/limb pains and is also very useful
for rheumatic diseases, sexual weakness, blood pressure, nerve disorders
and helps slow down the ageing process. |
